Looking for a lakehouse close to Indianapolis?
In 1999, my family and I decided to buy a lakehouse. We wanted to be at a location that was less than a 2 hour drive (from our home in Carmel), had clean water, and was affordably priced. After checking out all the lakes and reservoirs within that radius, we bought at Heritage Lake in Putnam County Indiana. Heritage Lake is a private lake, located 7 miles west of Danville (just past the Hendricks County line). From Carmel, is it roughly a one hour drive. It isn't as crowded as many public lakes, because only property owners can put a boat on the water. There is a full-time security guard that patrols the lake to make sure compliance is followed. The lake also offers water that doesn't have rising ecoli or other bacteria. Skiing and wave runners are allowed from sunup to sundown. Fishing is also great! There are a lot of bass and catfish in the lake.
If you have considered buying a lakehouse near Indy, give me a call at 846-FAST (3278.) I'd be happy to give you a water (or land) tour of Heritage Lake, as well as show you current homes for sale. It's the best kept secret in the state. See for yourself!
