Many homebuyers are not aware that they can save money by using term life insurance instead of the mortgage insurance offered by the lender. Term life also gives the homebuyer the advantage of naming the beneficiary (the lender always names itself). Another advantage to using term life insurance is that the value of the policy remains constant, whereas bank mortgage insurance will charge the same rate for premiums although the value decreases as they will only pay the balance owing, not the original value. Term life also offers the option of choosing a policy that converts into whole life insurance when the term expires without having to submit new medical information. Consult with a qualified broker as well as comparing term life insurance quotes online. Remember, bank mortgage insurance protects the bank, term life insurance protects the homebuyer!

Actually, Realtors have nothing to gain with sellers adding payment for principal reduction. I don't understand your post.

This act, this is a bill that would eliminate tax on forgiven debt. Here is a brief explanation (from an earlier post on this blog): If a mortgage lender forgives debt as part of a short sale or foreclosure or what have you.

Thank you for sharing that emotional story. Glad to hear your daughter is fine! You're right, kidnapping can happen anywhere at anytime. No matter what neighborhood you live in, we have to be cautious and aware all of the time. I know that many people never think things could happen so close to home.
